Islam AITerms of Use
These terms are an agreement between you and Cognify AI Ltd ("we", "us"), a company in the United Kingdom, for your use of the Islam AI apps and website (the "Service"). By using the Service you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
1. The Service
Islam AI offers AI-assisted answers about Islam with references to the Qur'an and hadith, Daleel evidence checks, a Qur'an reader with audio and tafsir, prayer times and reminders, Quranic Arabic lessons with an AI tutor, Bustān, live sermon translation and, on Android, GazeGuard. Features may change, and some features need an internet connection, an account or a PRO subscription.
2. Religious guidance and AI content
- Answers and other content generated by AI can be inaccurate, incomplete or out of context, even when references are shown. Where we show a reference as verified, this means the text matches our sources; it does not mean the AI's interpretation is correct.
- The Service is a tool for learning and reflection. It is not a fatwa, not a scholar, and not a substitute for qualified religious, legal, medical, financial or psychological advice. For important religious matters, consult a qualified scholar.
- The Service presents mainstream Sunni scholarship. Where scholars differ, it may present one or more views.
- Prayer times are calculated using the method and location you choose and may differ from your local mosque. Please check important times locally.
- Live translation and transcription are best-effort and may contain errors.
- If you are in crisis or at risk of harm, contact your local emergency services.
3. Your account
You can use much of the Service without an account. If you sign in with Apple or Google, you are responsible for keeping access to that account secure. You can delete your account at any time in Settings → Account → Delete account.
4. Who can use the Service
You must be at least 13 years old, or use the Service with the involvement of a parent or guardian. If you are under 18, you need a parent or guardian's permission to buy a subscription.
5. PRO subscriptions
- PRO is an auto-renewing subscription (monthly or annual) bought through the Apple App Store or Google Play. Prices are shown in the app before you buy.
- Where a free trial is offered, it converts to a paid subscription at the end of the trial unless you cancel at least 24 hours before it ends.
- Your subscription renews automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can manage or cancel it in your App Store or Google Play account settings. Deleting the app or your account does not cancel it.
- Payments, renewals and refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their terms. We cannot issue refunds directly.
- We may change PRO features or prices; price changes apply from your next renewal, with notice as required by the store.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use the Service for anything unlawful, harmful, hateful or abusive, or to harass others;
- try to extract, misrepresent or pass off AI output as an authoritative ruling, or attribute it falsely to a scholar;
- submit content you do not have the right to share, including other people's personal data or copyrighted material beyond what the law allows;
- overload, probe, reverse engineer or interfere with the Service, bypass usage limits or paywalls, or access it by automated means;
- use GazeGuard or any other feature in a way that breaks the terms of other apps or services.
We may suspend or limit access if these terms are broken or to protect the Service and its users.
7. Content
The Qur'an, hadith collections, translations, tafsir and recitations shown in the app come from their respective sources and remain subject to their owners' rights. The app's design, software and our own content belong to us. You keep any rights you have in what you type into the Service, and you give us permission to process it as needed to provide the Service, as described in the Privacy Policy. You may use AI answers for your own personal, non-commercial purposes.
8. GazeGuard
GazeGuard helps reduce exposure to images of people but cannot catch every image, every time. It is an aid, not a guarantee, and it depends on permissions you grant on your device.
9. Availability
We work to keep the Service available but do not guarantee it will be uninterrupted or error-free. We may change, suspend or stop features, and we rely on third-party services (such as AI providers and prayer-time services) that may be unavailable at times.
10. Liability
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. Subject to that, the Service is provided "as is", and we are not liable for decisions you make based on its content, or for any indirect or consequential loss. Our total liability to you for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid for PRO in the 12 months before the claim. If you are a consumer, you also have legal rights that these terms do not affect.
11. App Store terms
If you downloaded the app from the Apple App Store, these terms are between you and us, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for the app or its content, has no obligation to provide maintenance or support, and is not responsible for any claims relating to the app. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them. Your use must also comply with the App Store's terms. If you downloaded the app from Google Play, Google Play's terms also apply.
12. Ending your use
You can stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may end or suspend your access if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We will change the effective date above and tell you in the app if a change is significant. Continuing to use the Service after a change means you accept the updated terms.
14. Law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. If you live elsewhere in the UK or in the EU, you may also be able to bring a claim in your local courts.
